We have two events planned for this fall (see below) with several more in the works starting in January 2026. We hope you'll join us and get involved with the Good in your Neighborhood!
Calvin Presbyterian Church is proud to announce the launch of its new program, Community Connections, an initiative designed to connect local nonprofit organizations and dedicated volunteers. Throughout the year we will host regular events where local groups can share their mission and discuss ways community members can get involved. These evenings will be open to anyone in the community looking to get involved, and will provides an easy way to learn more about the good that is happening right in our own communities.

The program aims to serve as a bridge between community needs and the individuals eager to make a difference - high school students looking for volunteer hours, families looking to serve the community together, individuals who want to help but aren't sure how to get started, and those just wanting a reminder of the good we can do together.

Each Community Connections gathering will feature a presentation from a local nonprofit, followed by a meet-and-greet with refreshments where attendees can ask questions about volunteer opportunities.
"Part of Calvin Presbyterian Church's mission is that we would be a community of faith that invites us all to love and serve one another. And that 'one another' is inclusive of all of us in our communities, no matter what your church affiliation is, or is not. And especially these days when we are inundated with so much of what is wrong, we know there are so many in our community that want to be a part of positive change and the good that we can do and be for one another. Community Connections is aimed at helping us all learn about the varied and diverse good things that are already going on all around us - organizations that are doing good work in our communities - and then connecting people to those particular organizations and the good work that speaks to them. Some of these organizations may be faith based, and others are not. But we celebrate and support what is good wherever it is found."
