"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing?...' And the king will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.'" - Matthew 25:37-40
Ongoing Church Opportunities
Deacons
The Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center
provides services to victims of domestic violence in the Blackstone Valley area, and has been doing so for over three decades. During the month of October, 2021, the Deacons are collecting personal care items (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and deodorant) for BVAC. A collection box is located in the church narthex during the month of October. The Teens and Tweens Food Pantry
in Woonsocket. This is a food pantry for middle school students who are food insecure and rely on school breakfast and lunch programs while in school. On holidays, however, many go without at home. This food pantry provides food to take home for such occassions. Haven of Grace
Having begun as a ministry to empower "women to overcome poverty of body, mind, and spirit," especially those who are seeking to overcome the effects of domestic violence, addictions, mental health issues, and poverty, Haven of Grace has recently broadened its reach to the wider Woonsocket area. |
Community Care Committee
Woonsocket Community Meal is a program of Help the Homeless RI (a registered 501(c)(3) community organization) that collects and distributes items to help the homeless, and provides weekly meals in under-served areas.
In addition to financial support, the Mission Committee works with Woonsocket Community Meal to help organize lunch preparation for their weekly meals. If you are interested in helping to prepare lunches, or in learning more about it, please click here. |
